How to get to the Vaisseau?

You have different ways to get to the Vaisseau !

You come by car or by school bus

  • From France: coming from the A4 or A35 highway (from Colmar or Paris), take exit #4 “Kehl Place de l’étoile”. Continue along the RN4 in the direction of Kehl. After the tunnel, turn left at the 3rd traffic light (rue Alfred Kastler) towards “Esplanade Robertsau”. Le Vaisseau is immediately on the right, before the Danube bridge.
  • From Germany: from the A5 (from Karlsruhe and Freiburg im Breisgau), take exit 54 (junction U30 then B28) and follow the direction Strasbourg – Kehl. Drive through Kehl and over the Europe Bridge. Follow “Strasbourg center” on the RN4. Turn right at the crossroads of the rue Alfred Kastler in the direction of “Esplanade Robertsau”. Le Vaisseau is immediately before the Danube bridge.

Good to know

  • If using a GPS, enter the street name Alfred Kastler or the GPS coordinates of Le Vaisseau: Latitude N 48.573° / Longitude E 7.7716
  • A bus drop-off area secures the arrival of children at the Vaisseau group entrance. Click here to download a map of our drop-off area.
  • A parking lot with 173 spaces (plus 6 handicap spaces) as well as a drop-off area for buses is at your disposal. It is free for visitors to the Vaisseau and the Bas-Rhin Departmental Archives and charged to non-visitors.

You come by streetcar or bus CTS

  • From Strasbourg city center: take streetcar C (Direction “Neuhof”) or streetcar E (Direction Baggersee) to the “Winston Churchill” stop, then walk along the Quai des Alpes (5mn walk).
  • From Kehl: take streetcar D to the “Aristide Briand” stop, then bus 30 in the direction of “Robertsau Sainte-Anne / Robertsau Chasseurs” to the “Danube” stop, or streetcar D to the “Jean Jaurès” or “Landsberg” stop, then streetcar C (towards Gare Centrale) or E (towards Robertsau) to the “Winston Churchill” stop, then walk along the Quai des Alpes (5mn walk).

You come by train

  • In Strasbourg station: take the streetcar C, direction “Neuhof” to the stop “Winston Churchill”, then walk along the quai des Alpes (5mn on foot).
  • In Kehl station: take the bus 21 direction “Wattwiller”, change at the stop “Aristide Briand” to take the bus 30 direction “Robertsau Sainte-Anne / Robertsau Chasseurs” to the stop “Danube”.

You come by bike

  • From Strasbourg: from Place de Lattre de Tassigny (Place de la Bourse) follow the bike path along Quai du Général Koenig, then Quai des Alpes. Take the Danube bridge on your right, direction “Neudorf Meinau”. The Vaisseau is on your left, directly after the bridge.
  • From Kehl: follow the direction “Strasbourg center” along the RN 4 (Route du Rhin). Turn right towards “Esplanade Robertsau” at the intersection with Rue Alfred Kastler. The Vaisseau is on your right, directly before the bridge.

Please note: 25 bike racks are available in the Vaisseau parking lot.
